The data provided by the user facilitates beehive record keeping and review of that data to the benefit of the user.
The Application leverages email accounts to differentiate users in the HiveTool Mobile ecosystem. For example on Android platforms this may be a GMail account. HiveTool Mobile does not share email addresses with 3rd parties, and only uses email information for purposes of identity within the HiveTool Mobile ecosystem and to respond to in-application messages initiated by the user.
HiveTool Mobile never spams user email accounts with so-called product "news".
Data provided by the user may be used for research analysis. For example, to determine trends in regional beehive health by HiveTool Mobile or a 3rd party. Personally identifiable information will not be shared to any 3rd party without user consent. In that spirit, the resolution of a location is never more specific than a ZIP Code.
The application gathers device specific information solely to facilitate HiveTool Mobile support identifying and resolving problems with the Application. Examples of data collected are device specifications such as model, operating system version, etc. Device information is for use only within HiveTool Mobile's ecosystem. It is not shared with any 3rd party.
Although available due to network software dependencies, the Application does not use GPS or any sort of automatic location sensing to track the location of users. We're interested in furthering bee wellness, not where you go to do your thing.
The Application uses a single 3rd party service, Google Maps, to normalize a user supplied apiary location. For example, if a user enters the ZIP Code 30114 as an apiary location, the application attempts to use the Google Maps service to normalize the ZIP Code to "Canton GA, USA 30114". Generally a ZIP Code will resolve to its corresponding county/parish seat and country.
